Paris Saint-Germain left-back Nuno Mendes played 80 minutes in the capital club’s Coupe de France elimination at the hands of OGC Nice. After a scoreless 0-0 result, the match went straight to penalty kicks where the French giants would fall.
After the matchup, Mendes conducted an interview with PSG TV, where he discussed various topics about the loss. The 19-year-old had another excellent game, but he understands that personal matters don’t mean much when the team loses.
“Unfortunately, we did not manage to qualify for the next round, but we must continue to work,” Mendes said. I felt good on the pitch, I did what I had to do, help the team as much as possible but unfortunately it wasn’t enough to win. So now we will continue to work and give our all in our next game.
“The supporters? It’s really important to have supporters. We had it today, and we had it in all the matches but much less because of the Covid. I think it’s a good thing to find all the supporters from the next game. It really helps the team and that’s what we need.”
