Verratti Shares an Outlook Following PSG’s Coupe de France Elimination vs. OGC Nice

Paris Saint-Germain fell short in the Coupe de France round of 16 clash against OGC Nice, as it was eliminated in the penalty shootout.

PSG midfielder Marco Verratti featured in the match, as he went on to complete 98 successful passes and also created a pair of goal-scoring chances for teammates. Overall, as he noted following the match (via Eurosport 2), PSG now has to simply move on and look ahead to its remaining fixtures this season.

“We must continue to work,” Verratti said. “We must not give up, we still have very important games. We have to continue like this and do even more.”

PSG still has an opportunity to complete a double-winning campaign. It currently sits at first place in the Ligue 1 standings and will meet Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League round of 16 tie later this month.

For Verratti, the Italian international featured in five matches in all competitions with PSG in the month of January, which includes the notable two-goal showing in the side’s 4-0 win over Reims in league play.
