Longtime Brazilian forward Ronaldo Nazario has lauded Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar’s legacy with the Brazilian national team.

In speaking on longtime Inter Milan forward Christian Vieri’s “Bobo TV” Twitch show, Ronaldo took some time to discuss Neymar’s legacy with the Selecao, where he also touched on why he sees that the PSG forward has garnered much criticism over the course of his career.

“I hope he can win the World Cup,” Ronaldo said. “In terms of numbers, he has overtaken me, Zico, Romario… and now he is five goals away from surpassing Pele.

“I love him, he scores a lot. Then maybe there will be someone who will criticize him because of his private life and because he has won few individual awards.”

Overall, Neymar currently ranks in second place on the all-time Brazil national team goal-scoring list, as he has notched 70 goals in 116 appearances in international play.

More so, as Ronaldo touched on, Neymar’s list of individual awards is not as stacked as some of his more notable peers in world football today. Still, Neymar has already left behind a keen legacy at the club and international levels.
