Report: Zinedine Zidane at PSG Will Depend on the France National Team

Following the penalty kick shootout loss to OGC Nice that saw Paris Saint-Germain, rumors linking the capital club back to former Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane are resurfacing again.

The Ligue 1 side wants to offer Zidane an excellent salary to take over from manager Mauricio Pochettino. However, RMC Sport reports that the French tactician continues to wait and see if the France national team job will become available.

According to the French media outlet, Zidane has told Les Parisiens no back in October and November. However, Zidane could revise his plans if he feels that Didier Deschamps’ stint at the helm of the France national team will extend beyond the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

But if the 49-year-old believes that he can get the managerial job for Les Bleus in January, then Zidane will not be heading to the French capital. It all comes down to whether France wants to keep Deschamps past this year.

If Deschamps extends, then it helps PSG’s cause to bring Zidane to their bench.
