The future of Mauricio Pochettino at Paris Saint-Germain remains up in the air. The Argentine tactician has been linked to the open job at Manchester United over the past couple of months.

Although The Red Devils hope to land Pochettino, the Daily Mail reports that the Premier League will have competition for Pochettino as Real Madrid is poised to join Manchester United in their pursuit of the 49-year-old.

The report states that the Spanish giants remain vast admirers of the ex-Spurs head coach, as doubts arise over their current manager Carlo Ancelotti’s future at the Bernabeu.

Pochettino, alongside Ajax boss Erik ten Hag, is among the leading candidates to supersede current interim boss Ralf Rangnick. Pochettino is reportedly the popular option among the group of current Manchester United players.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid players were taunted by their supporters during a 3-1 win over Alaves last weekend following the Champions League first-leg loss to PSG. As a result, the future of Ancelotti is being questioned as he could leave the Spanish capital at the end of the season.

Should Pochettino depart, he’ll have plenty of suitors.
