Paris Saint-Germain has featured a multitude of standout players over the decades. Among them, the likes of Edinson Cavani and Thiago Silva sure left behind stout legacies during their respective runs at PSG.
For Brazilian defender Marquinhos, he sees that Mbappe well has what it takes to be acclaimed as the greatest player in PSG history, which he touched on to Telefoot (via Le10Sport).
“He is already one of the greatest players in the history of PSG,” Marquinhos said. “He is at the end of his contract, he is in a decisive moment in his life.”
PSG is set to face a notable dilemma in the summer transfer window, as Mbappe will be out of a contract and eligible to leave the club as a free agent. Overall, Marquinhos well aspires to see Mbappe go on to stay put at PSG.
“Yes, he knows that,” Marquinhos said. “We tell him. He is a very important player for us. He shows it on the field every time. I don’t know his decision. We’re trying to make the most of it so we can achieve our goals until the end of the season and then we’ll see.”
Mbappe has been a keen performer for PSG as of late in all competitions, which include the late game-winning goal in the side’s recent Ligue 1 home fixture against Rennes.
For now, Marquinhos and Mbappe are now slated to feature for PSG in its upcoming UEFA Champions League round of 16 first leg clash with Real Madrid.
