Report: Pochettino Faces a Major Goalkeeper Dilemma for PSG’s Coupe de France Fixture vs. OGC Nice

Paris Saint-Germain will face off against OGC Nice in the upcoming Coupe de France round of 16, although there is now much speculation as to who will start out at the goalkeeper position.

As noted by RMC Sport‘s Loic Tanzi, PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma is expected to be sidelined for no more than 10 days. He is currently dealing with a notable calf injury.

More so, Keylor Navas earned a call-up to feature for the Costa Rica national team in its upcoming 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying fixtures over the ongoing international break. On the other hand, Sergio Rico spent the first half of the season as the team’s third-string goalkeeper, although he is now with La Liga side Mallorca on a half-season loan move.

As a result, PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino may be forced to call upon possibly Alexandre Letellier or Denis Franchi to feature against Nice. Letellier has not played in a single fixture with PSG since signing with the club over the 2020 summer transfer window. Franchi was called on to be in the squad list for the UEFA Champions League away group stage match against Manchester City and the recent home encounter with Reims in Ligue 1 play but did not play in either contest.

Pochettino sure has a notable dilemma to address for this upcoming match.
