The holiday period is over, and now the Paris Saint-Germain players are returning from their vacation with family. Still, as some returned to the French capital, it served as a reminder that the world remains in a pandemic.

PSG recently announced that four players have tested positive for COVID-19, and TyC Sports Gaston Edul reports that one of the players was Lionel Messi. However, the Argentine journalist states that the positive test occurred a few days post-Christmas.

Edul adds that Messi feels good and will be able to travel to Paris. There is no further information as to whether he has to isolate upon his return to the French capital. Nonetheless, it does serve as a reminder that the players will need to be careful heading into the second half of the season.

PSG can’t afford to lose players to a positive test and should learn from the outbreaks that have caused the Premier League to reschedule its matches around.
