Lyon Manager Bosz Hints at Major Tactical Plans for the Ligue 1 Fixture vs. Mbappe, PSG

Paris Saint-Germain will return to Ligue 1 play in the upcoming away encounter with Olympique Lyonnais. For Lyon manager Peter Bosz, he well aspires to see his team defend PSG as a collective unit.

In speaking during his pre-match press conference (via RMC Sport), Bosz was asked on how a team would defend against PSG forward Kylian Mbappe. Bosz shied away from engaging in such talk, as he does not want his team to focus on a mere one player in the upcoming fixture.

“We shouldn’t talk about one player,” Bosz said. “He is a player with exceptional qualities, but there are many more. Otherwise, they would not be in Paris. In the first leg, I was asked how to defend against Messi, but we will play as a team against PSG.”

Mbappe may have to lead PSG’s attack in this match. Neymar will not take part in the fixture, as he is still dealing with an ankle injury. More so, Lionel Messi has already been cleared to feature in individual training after being away from the team due to a positive COVID-19 test, although it remains to be seen whether he may play in the match.

PSG won the first encounter with Lyon earlier in the season, as it came away with a narrow 2-1 win.
