After much wait, Paris Saint-Germain defender Sergio Ramos made his debut last month in a match against AS Saint-Étienne, where the 35-year-old played 90 minutes. Hindsight suggests that playing Ramos an entire game off a calf injury wasn’t the brightest idea.
Since the match, Ramos has yet to play another fixture for the capital club. During his press conference with the media, manager Mauricio Pochettino discussed the possibility of the Spain international playing a match before the holiday break.
“Will he play again in 2021? Yes, we hope to see him again by the end of the calendar year. Too much played against Saint-Etienne? No, he felt good. We played 11 v 10 most of this game. The requirement may not have been the same as 11 to 11,” Pochettino said.
