Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar has been sidelined since suffering an ankle injury over the late stages of his team’s Ligue 1 away fixture against AS Saint-Etienne. The Brazilian forward was then provided with a six-to-eight-week timeline for when he could be back on the pitch.
Ahead of the upcoming Coupe de France knockout stage encounter with Feignies, the club’s official website noted that Neymar’s boot will be removed in eight days. The club eyes a “progressive return” for the forward.
Still, PSG did not issue a firm date regarding his possible return to action. Thus, he still could be in line to return to in-game action in time for the team’s upcoming UEFA Champions League round of 16 clash with Real Madrid.
The likes of Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe have stepped up for PSG as of late in Neymar’s absence thanks to the key goals scored in all competitions.
PSG currently holds a 13-point lead over second place Olympique de Marseille in the Ligue 1 standings.
