‘Hopefully So’ – Leandro Paredes Discusses the Contract Status of Kylian Mbappé

The January window is about to open, and it’s only a matter of time before the numerous reports linking Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappé to Real Madrid. The 22-year-old, whose deal expires in June, can begin talks with any club over a pre-contract that kicks in next season.

In an interview with ESPN Argentina (via AS), midfielder Leandro Paredes provided his thoughts regarding whether he sees Mbappé extending his contract with the capital club. Paredes didn’t give too much in his response, but he did say that the France international wants to win important trophies.

“Mbappè is a very calm boy. He wants to win important things; we still don’t know if he is going to renew or not, hopefully so,” Paredes said.

Mbappé wanting to win is a critical element that many stated when talking about the forward’s future. However, PSG did everything this summer to put together a squad to compete for the UEFA Champions League.

Furthermore, if the club can address the midfield and get someone to pair with Verratti, it gives the French club a chance to win the trophy they’ve pursued since Qatar Sports Investment took over in 2011.
