Paris Saint-Germain was a few minutes away from leaving Leipzig with three points. RB Leipzig opened up the scoring and had other opportunities for a second. Nonetheless, the capital club withstood the press by the German side.

Georginio Wijnaldum scored a brace to give a 2-1 lead to the Ligue 1 side. When it seemed as though PSG would walk away with a win, Presnel Kimpembe conceded a penalty chance that Dominik Szoboszlai converted.

Following the draw, manager Mauricio Pochettino spoke to RMC Sport, providing his thoughts on the disappointing result.

“We saw how a performing team opposite could put us in difficulty. It was our fault to miss the start of the game. It is true that we did not start well,” Pochettino said.

“In the second half, we controlled the game better. The stats show that we must do better in terms of possession, and above all, we must better control the match against teams capable of playing in transition like Leipzig. You have to know how to do everything.”
