Video: ‘We Can Stand Up to Them’ – Cengiz Ünder States Marseille Can Overtake PSG in the Ligue 1 Title Race

Paris Saint-Germain sits atop Ligue 1 with 31 points, and their eternal rival Olympique de Marseille sits in third place with 22 points. Nine points separate the two clubs, with OGC Nice standing in between them.

In an interview with Canal Football Club, Marseille forward Cengiz Ünder stated that they plan to track down their rival despite the gap between them since Marseille isn’t giving up on their title hopes.

“They have a very good team. All the stars in the world play there… I grew up watching Messi play. I remember at Roma, in the quarter-finals against Barcelona, I couldn’t believe my eyes to find myself in front of him,” Ünder said.

“But we also have a good team. We saw it in this Classic at the Vélodrome; we can stand up to them. Sometimes on the pitch, it’s the one who fights with all his heart who wins; it’s not always a question of money. The title, I think it’s possible, why wouldn’t it be possible?”

Although PSG isn’t playing well with their style of play, they’re still racking up points. So unless the capital club falters, it’s unlikely Marseille wins the league this year.
