Video: ‘It’s the Biggest Disappointment’ – Mauricio Pochettino Discusses PSG’s Terrible Start Against RB Leipzig

In Paris Saint-Germain’s disappointing draw to RB Leipzig, one of the significant moments in the match was the opening 20 minutes where the capital club conceded the first goal of the game and nearly allowed another if it wasn’t for the penalty kick save by Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Leipzig had plenty of other opportunities in the match’s early stages to get a second goal but failed. After the game, manager Mauricio Pochettino spoke to the media at his press conference, where he stated one of the disappointments was how PSG started the game.

“No. Like the players, I’m disappointed with the first 15 or 20 minutes. We had a lot of trouble getting into the game. It’s the biggest disappointment not to start the match the way we wanted,” Pochettino said.

“We regained our energy in the game, and we were able to score two goals. We could have put the 3rd. We were much quieter in the second half. We had the best chances. But then we conceded the penalty. We did not give a good image at the start of the meeting, but we showed character to react.”

  1. Dear Maurice, as of late we’ve noticed that the team has trouble coming out efficiently with the ball from the back, when the opponents are pressing high. In most instances, they should not be sending ground balls to the midfield players who are being heavily manmarked and pressured by two or several opposing players. You’ve lost the ball so many times due to these ineffective passings. Please work on the solutions for this setback otherwise the team will not match up to the best of the Champions League teams.
