Paris Saint-Germain sits atop Group A in the UEFA Champions League and Ligue 1. However, manager Mauricio Pochettino is coming under fire for the style of play that the capital club is performing.
Pochettino has yet to get Lionel Messi, Neymar Jr., and Kylian Mbappé going, and the Ligue 1 side grinds out victories often needing late-minute heroics. Ahead of PSG’s match, the Argentine tactician spoke to the media at his press conference, where he discussed the criticism regarding his style of play.
“There are complicated aspects to every game. As a coach, we always want to improve, and that is the phase we are going through. Wijnaldum spoke about the time to adjust to his new teammates and the technical staff,” Pochettino said.
“We are in the middle of the process, and we were satisfied with the latest results. Leipzig is a great team with good players. State of mind? We are aware of the situation and our responsibility to win our next game to continue and improve.”
