The Ballon d’Or award will be given out Monday with Paris Saint-Germain’s Lionel Messi and FC Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski, the two favorites. Everyone is giving their opinion on who should come away with the highest honor.
Following PSG’s 3-1 win over AS Saint-Etienne, Sergio Ramos, who made his debut for the capital club in the match, spoke to ESPN. He discussed playing alongside his new teammate, Lionel Messi, and wishing him luck in winning the Ballon d’Or over the Bayern Munich striker.
“I see him well; I think that in the end, he is a very decisive player,” Ramos said. “[Messi] is a unique player, and it is a privilege to have him in the team, and I think that little by little, together, we will each contribute our grain of sand to make Paris greater and achieve the objectives that we want to achieve.”
“Yes, obviously, I defend those who are in my team. I wish him all the luck in the world.”
