Video: ‘I Am Happy With the Evolution’ – Mauricio Pochettino Discusses the Current Form of Kylian Mbappé

Over the FIFA break, Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappé put together two quality matches for the France national team. The 22-year-old scored five goals in the two games against Kazakhstan and Finland, helping Les Bleus qualify for the FIFA World Cup next year.

At his press conference, PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino answered a question regarding how Mbappé can continue to improve under his watch, considering other forwards like Jay Rodriguez and Harry Kane made progress under the Argentine tactician.

“When we got there, Kylian was already the great player he is. It’s normal. He is a young player with enormous potential, constantly improving. I’m not going to tell you that we are responsible for this, but we support the players in their progress. This is not just for us,” Pochettino said.

“In each case, I believe in giving all the credit to the footballers because they are the only ones with this internal motivation. They must improve every day, using the tools made available to them by the technical staff. I am happy with the evolution of Kylian, which shows every time, he is a more mature and complete player. His statistics are very good.”
