Report: Paredes Could Feature for Argentina Against Brazil

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Leandro Paredes has been sidelined as of late due to a notable quad injury, but he could possibly make a return to the pitch in the coming week.

As noted by TyC Sports, Paredes could take part in the Argentina national team’s upcoming 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying fixture against Brazil in the coming Tuesday.

Paredes has not featured in a single match for club and country since Argentina’s World Cup qualifying fixture against Peru in October due to the quad injury. He has missed several key fixtures since then, including PSG’s recent UEFA Champions League away group stage fixture against RB Leipzig.

While the Argentine midfielder took part in an individual training session with La Albiceleste on Monday, it is not yet known on manager Lionel Scaloni’s plans for him in this November international break and whether he could feature against Uruguay in World Cup qualifying play on Friday.

Argentina currently sits at second place in the CONMEBOL World Cup qualifying standings with 25 points over 11 matches.
