Report: Neymar Will Miss Brazil’s Upcoming Fixture Against Argentina Due to Injury

There is now a notable injury concern regarding Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar.

As noted by the Brazilian Football Confederation, Neymar will not take part in Brazil’s upcoming 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying fixture against Argentina due to injury.

On Monday, Neymar self-reported that he is having discomfort in his left thigh. As a result, he did not travel with the team for its upcoming showdown with rival Argentina.

The Brazilian-based outlet Globo further notes that Neymar will travel to Paris on Wednesday. He is slated to rejoin PSG a few days before its upcoming Ligue 1 home fixture against Nantes.

It remains to be seen whether this injury concern for Neymar will end up ruling him out of any Ligue 1 or UEFA Champions League group stage fixtures with PSG in the coming weeks. The French powerhouse not only has the matchup with Nantes upcoming, but it will also face Manchester City in the return Champions League group stage match next week.

Neymar last featured for PSG against Bordeaux in Ligue 1 play before the November international break, where he snapped his league goalless streak with a two-goal outing.
