Neymar has been sluggish coming out of the 2021-22 gate, trying to find his form. The 29-year-old had an extended holiday following his participation in the Copa America this summer.
Following the match, the Brazil international spoke to the microphone of Amazon Prime Sports (via Culture PSG), where one of the first questions he answered was over the result, grabbing a late goal to secure the victory over Olympique Lyonnais.
“Yes, it’s a great result at home. We have to repeat that. We managed to get back to the score,” Neymar said. “We are very happy. There was a great effort from the whole team, but I think we have to, and we know we can, do better. We are improving little by little, we know each other more and more, and this is how we will be able to try to achieve our goals.
One of the other questions that Neymar answered is over the team’s play and whether he’s getting to a place where he’s satisfied with his squad’s performance week-in and week-out.
“Little by little, we are improving, yes. At the start of the season, the team only had three or four matches,” Neymar said. “We have to progress little by little in terms of our physical conditions, our game, and everything else. We are very satisfied with the result of the day, very happy for this victory, which is the most important. We grow as a team.”
