Presnel Kimpembe played all 90 minutes for Paris Saint-Germain in their 1-1 draw against Club Brugge to open up the UEFA Champions League. The 26-year-old had five clearances, one interception, three tackles, and went three for seven on his duels.
Nonetheless, the capital club did concede a goal and was close to surrendering other scoring opportunities. Following the fixture that ended in a draw, Kimpembe spoke to Canal Plus, where he provided his thoughts on the result.
“It’s the Champions League, so it’s the high level. We came across a great team from Bruges. You have to know how to recognize it even if we haven’t played our best football,” Kimpembe said. “They have merit. Tonight, it was a fairly complicated game, but we still took a point, and the most important thing is the fact that we did not lose.”
“Of course, you also have to know how to respect these teams, even if you know that you have the right team on paper. It must also be demonstrated on the field, and it is a team that has not been unworthy this evening.”
