Lionel Messi had his first standout performance with Paris Saint-Germain earlier this week, as he scored in the team’s UEFA Champions League group stage fixture against Manchester City.
Argentina national team manager Lionel Scaloni was able to catch Messi’s showing from the match and simply stands amazed with the six-time Ballon d’Or winner.
In speaking to TyC Sports, Scaloni offered his takeaways from Messi’s performance, along with his evaluation of the forward’s recent knee injury.
“I saw it well, a good game from PSG,” Scaloni said. “Leo played a good game and scored a great goal. We are happy about that.
“We are in permanent contact. The information was that he needed a couple of days of recovery and yesterday he played normally. We didn’t talk again after the match. He finished well and that’s the most important thing.”
Messi is expected to feature in PSG’s final match before the upcoming October international break, which will come in a Ligue 1 away matchup against Rennes.
