This past summer transfer window saw various reports linking Paris Saint-Germain striker Mauro Icardi to Juventus FC. No move occurred; however, the Serie A side could be looking to revisit their interest in January.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Paris Fans) reports, Juventus and Icardi had several exchanges at the end of the transfer window, even if a transfer at the end became very difficult to conceive.
Now there’s the possibility of engaging in talks in the winter transfer window as the Argentine forward is reportedly open to a move back to Serie A in January in the form of a loan deal.
With the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo, Juventus needs someone that can contribute to the goal-scoring department. Furthermore, Icardi is familiar with Serie A having spent a significant time with Inter Milan, so they’d be bringing back a proven goal scorer in the Italian league.
It will be interesting to see how these next few months develop and whether PSG is open to working out a deal for Icardi in January.
