One of the surprise players to have hit the ground running in good form is Idrissa Gueye. The 31-year-old played all 90 minutes in Paris Saint-Germain’s 2-0 victory over Stade de Reims, where he had 107 touches and won eight of his 15 duels.
After the match, Gueye spoke to PSG TV, where he provided his thoughts on the matchup. The midfielder is happy with the squad’s form as they’ve secured all 12 points to kick off their Ligue 1 season.
“It is true that it was a good match today, against a team from Reims which plays well football, which is not afraid. We held on, we tried not to take goals, as we have conceded a lot lately,” Gueye said.
“This score of 0-2 is a pleasure. It was important today to continue our momentum, to win as many matches as possible, and today we did it with the fashion.”
