The rumors over whether Lionel Messi may soon join Paris Saint-Germain as a free transfer have continued to mount by the day.
Following PSG’s key Ligue 1 win against Troyes AC, midfielder Ander Herrera was asked for his take on the ongoing Messi to PSG rumors. As expected, Herrera shied away from revealing any critical details over this possible move, but he did reflect (via Canal Football Club) on his previous battles in going up against the Argentine forward.
“I can’t talk about things I don’t know,” Herrera said. “I can talk about the game. I understand that when a player like Messi is free, everyone talks. And they talk about PSG, it’s normal, it’s a very attractive club. But I can not talk.
“I can only say that he is the best player in the history of football. I played a lot against him. He is the best opponent I have had. But I don’t know if he is coming.”
