Paris Saint-Germain is reportedly inching closer to signing Lionel Messi to a free transfer deal, and one unlikely talent may have played a key part in possibly soon making it a reality.
As noted by the Argentine-based outlet TNT Sports Argentina, new PSG defender Sergio Ramos recently reached out to Messi to discuss the possibility of bringing him to the Ligue 1 giants.
Messi and Ramos have a long history from their days with Barcelona and Real Madrid respectively. Messi and Ramos often clashed when they met on the pitch, which turned into some heated confrontations between the two.
Still, this is all long behind them as Ramos is well open to seeing Messi also join PSG.
If Messi does go on to sign with PSG, it would make for one star-studded starting 11, from Ramos leading the team’s backline to Messi being the main attacking option upfront.
For Barca and Real Madrid fans, it sure would be a sight for them to see Messi and Ramos feature together at PSG this season.
