Paris Saint-Germain has been quite active over the ongoing summer transfer window. For one, the club has so far leaned more towards free transfer deals as a way to improve the team, as it signed the likes of Sergio Ramos, Gianluigi Donnarumma and Georginio Wijnaldum.
For PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino, he had long been planning for the summer transfer window with club officials. As Pochettino revealed during his talk with PSG TV, the club’s aim this summer has simply been to haul in some of the top talents in the sport today.
“We wanted to make joint decisions and in those joint decisions, to try to make the best decisions for our club, for our fans, for the people that work for the club, in order to be able to be meet the objectives that have been set for this season,” Pochettino said.
“A club like Paris Saint-Germain deserves players of the highest level.”
Many powerhouse clubs have a certain type of player they aim to recruit over transfer windows, but for PSG, the Argentine manager sees that the club must continue to haul in talents who simply aim to do what it takes to win.
“What we are looking for in all the players we want to see in the Paris Saint Germain shirt is personality, a conquering spirit,” Pochettino said. “These players that we have recruited have won at different clubs, but the most important thing is that they have not won anything here yet, and they will do everything for it.
“Their goal will be to help the team to reach the top. That’s the most important thing. I hope in a year’s time we’ll be talking about how these players helped the club and the team achieve the goals we had set.”
PSG may not be done just yet making moves over the transfer window.
