Pochettino Provides a Hint on the Plan for PSG’s Prospects This Season

Playing time for Paris Saint-Germain’s prospects was among the team’s key storylines over its preseason schedule.

PSG featured in five friendly matches, and as many of its regular first-team talents were away on vacation, the side elected to play some of its prospects in these fixtures. This included Dutch midfielder Xavi Simons, who finished with two goals scored over the team’s preseason schedule.

For the moment, PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino does not have a definitive plan for the team’s prospects this season. Still, he did provide a hint during a recent press conference (via Le Parisien) as to his possible plans with this matter.

“The young players have a very important role in this period,” Pochettino said. “In the training center, there are many qualities. We must wait until the end of the mercato to see if there are spaces for them or not. They must continue to work to have a chance in the future.”

PSG has been linked with multiple players over the past couple of weeks for possible transfer deals, so this could suggest that the club may not be done just yet in making moves this summer. Nonetheless, PSG’s prospects surely will be ready if called upon to feature with the team this upcoming season.
