Cagliari’s Cragno Ranks Donnarumma as a Top 3 Goalkeeper in the World

Cagliari goalkeeper Alessio Cragno has joined many in ranking new Paris Saint-Germain talent Gianluigi Donnarumma as a top three shot-stopper in the world today.

Donnarumma garnered plenty of support to be the next top goalkeeper in the world following his showings in the Euro 2020 tournament. Not only did the new PSG goalkeeper help the Italian national team win the tournament, but he wound up finishing with the Euro 2020 Player of the Tournament award.

Cragno has seen enough of Donnarumma to say that he is now among the elite goalkeepers in the sport today, which the Cagliari talent recently spoke further about (via TuttoMercatoWeb).

“It’s a matter of taste, if he’s not number one in the world, he’s certainly in the top two or three,” Cragno said. “He has made a mental leap in quality and has shown it in this European Championship; he has been decisive in every situation in which he could have been.”

Donnarumma is expected to soon join up with PSG for its ongoing preseason schedule. The Italian goalkeeper’s first official match with the team could come in the upcoming 2021 Trophee des Champions Final against reigning Ligue 1 winners Lille OSC, which would be a massive test for him in his early run with the team.
