Many active players have been left in awe when going up against Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar, including Borussia Dortmund midfielder Giovanni Reyna.
The American midfielder faced off against Neymar over the 2019-2020 UEFA Champions League knockout stage when Borussia Dortmund and PSG clashed in the round of 16. Reyna featured in both matches as he watched the PSG forward score a key goal in each fixture of the tie.
Reyna was much impressed by Neymar’s performances over the tie and in a recent Twitter question-and-answer session, the Dortmund midfielder signaled out the Brazilian forward as the best overall player who has faced so far in his career.
“The best overall player is Neymar, but my hardest competitor was Manuel Neuer,” Reyna said.

This is saying much, especially as Reyna has so far gone up against plenty of top teams filled with world-class players, such as perennial Bundesliga powerhouse FC Bayern Munich. Still, Neymar’s showings over the Champions League tie against Dortmund left one notable impression on the promising midfielder.
