Sarabia Opens Up on What It Will Mean to Represent Spain in Euro 2020

Spain national team manager Luis Enrique elected to include Paris Saint-Germain forward Pablo Sarabia in the side’s final Euro 2020 squad list. Sarabia will join the likes of Juventus’ Alvaro Morata and RB Leipzig’s Dani Olmo in Spain’s attack for this upcoming international tournament.

Not many expected to see Sarabia make Spain’s Euro 2020 squad list, especially as the PSG playmaker only has a mere three career appearances with the national team. It was even a surprise to Sarabia as well.

The PSG attacking talent recently spoke at a press conference (via Onze Mondial) about the call-up and just what it will mean to represent Spain in the Euros.

“I did not expect it,” Sarabia said. “I was in the car with my girlfriend when I received the call. I was thinking of going on vacation at that time, but I had to change my plans.

“I was very moved because it is a great opportunity for me. I look forward to being with my teammates and getting down to work to make a great competition.”

It will be noteworthy to see whether Sarabia earns playing time minutes in the upcoming Euros. The Spanish talent does have the experience in playing as both a winger and midfielder, so his versatility could come in handy for Enrique.
