Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe had arguably one of the biggest lowlights of his career when he missed his penalty shootout attempt in France’s Euro 2020 Round of 16 fixture against Switzerland.
Mbappe was left in sheer shock following his miss, as Switzerland subsequently celebrated its major knockout stage upset win over France.
The PSG forward later released a lengthy apology via his official Twitter account addressing the pivotal failed penalty attempt.

Behind the scenes, Mbappe also issued an apology to his France national side teammates in the locker room, as noted by RMC Sport.
For now, Mbappe will have a mini vacation over the upcoming weeks, which will be much-needed for the forward considering that PSG went straight into the 2020/2021 Ligue 1 season following its notable UEFA Champions League final run last year.
Mbappe is currently slated to take part in PSG’s key preseason schedule next month, when the side will have a period to train and prepare for the upcoming new season.
