Stade Rennais midfielder Eduardo Camavinga doesn’t plan on signing a contract extension as the teenager’s contract expires next summer. As a result, Rennes will need to sell him this summer.
Paris Saint-Germain is one of the clubs expressing interest in Camavinga, but they aren’t alone. Le10sport reports that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is prioritizing a move for the 18-year-old.
Rennes has put the deadline of June 28 to begin listening to offers. The French club would like for Camavinga to remain another season then sell him next summer, but it seems the teenager wants to move this transfer window.
Arteta has pinpointed the need for a new central midfielder as one of his transfer priorities this summer, particularly with Granit Xhaka nearing a move to AS Roma.
The Arsenal boss understands that his squad needs changing in the wake of a terrible 2020-21 season and is hopeful that the Kroenke’s will back him.
Meanwhile, PSG would like to bring in Camavinga to reinforce its midfield to pair alongside Marco Verratti, Leandro Paredes, and Georginio Wijnaldum.
