Neymar ended all speculation regarding his Paris Saint-Germain future when he signed off on a contract extension deal with club officials last month.
Neymar was set to become a free agent next year, but this new deal will keep him at the club for several more seasons.
More importantly, the rumors linking Neymar with a possible return to Barcelona have been put to rest.
The Brazilian star surely had many teammates concerned over whether he would end up prolonging his stay at the club. Overall, Neymar and PSG’s board simply took their time to work on the best deal possible, which worked out in the end for both sides.
In speaking to Foot Paris, Neymar touched on his new extension deal, where the forward once again confirmed that he is well satisfied with his current run at PSG.
“My extension took a while,” Neymar said. “We made the best decision for everyone. I have already had the opportunity to say that I am happy here in Paris and to play for PSG. I feel better and better.
“I have lived the most beautiful season since I am in Paris. Since I arrived at PSG, we all know that I had difficulties. I put myself to work to continue to progress and make my team win. I have always been a true professional. I have always had the respect of the club, contrary to what some people say.
“When I am on the field, I give and I give my all. Since last year, I am much better and I know how lucky I am to do my job with passion. We will do everything to continue to grow together.”
Neymar is well already one of the greatest talents to ever feature for PSG, which is much credited due to his collection of key performances for the team in Ligue 1 and UEFA Champions League play.
