New Report Reveals PSG’s Keen Stance With Florenzi’s Future at the Club

Paris Saint-Germain has faced early difficulty in finding a new starting right-back ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window. Thus, PSG may now be interested in signing Alessandro Florenzi away from AS Roma.

As noted by the Italian-based outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Le10Sport), Roma granted PSG the opportunity to exercise a €9 million purchase option for Florenzi.

Roma issued PSG a June 16 deadline to provide them with a final decision on whether it plans to sign the Italian right-back to a permanent transfer deal.

So far, there have been no reports noting that PSG changed its mind on Wednesday and elected to trigger this buy option.

For the moment, Florenzi is now slated to return to Roma this summer, but PSG is not completely ruling out signing the Italian talent.

The report added that PSG sporting director Leonardo would consider opening up transfer talks with Roma for Florenzi, but would only do so if the Serie A side lowers its €9 million asking price for the defender.

While PSG remains interested in bringing in a new right-back this summer, the side could very well opt to acquire Florenzi from Roma instead.
