The Brazilian national team finished 2021 Copa America group stage play with three wins and one draw.

As winners of Group B, Brazil will have a massive clash upcoming in the quarterfinal round against Chile.

Marquinhos is much looking ahead to Brazil’s knockout stage run in this competition, especially as he aims to claim a second consecutive Copa America win.

In speaking following Brazil’s draw result against Ecuador (via UOL), Marquinhos touched on the mentality for the Selecao’s remaining run in this tournament.

“Now comes the decisive part,” Marquinhos said. “In the knockout stage, we have to do the best possible thing to win and move on. Brazil arrives well, with players with experience and experience. The most tired players were able to rest today to get a good result in the quarterfinals.”

Marquinhos has been a reliable workhorse over the past year, as he totaled for a keen 40 appearances in all competitions with PSG in the recent campaign and currently sits at four appearances so far with the Brazilian national team in the calendar year.

The Brazilian defender is well aspiring to help the Selecao possibly pull off back-to-back Copa America tournament wins.
