The Ligue 1 title will be decided on the final matchday as Lille OSC holds first place with 80 points. Meanwhile, Paris Saint-Germain sits one point behind them in second place. Both of their fixtures will be occurring simultaneously, so there will be some scoreboard watching from supporters.
During his press conference with the media, manager Mauricio Pochettino spoke about his squad’s belief in potentially winning Ligue 1.
“In football, you always have to believe in it. It is one of our principles. We know we have to win. You have to be ready in case Lille does not perform well in Angers. I have no message for anyone. We hope to win the title,” Pochettino said.
Furthermore, Pochettino discussed whether he believes if the capital club not winning Ligue 1 would be considered a failure of a season.
“The word failure is a strong word; I think we should talk more about disappointment because losing the title at PSG is a disappointment, but we must think positive before the meeting, and we will see then,” Pochettino said.
