When there’s contract extension or transfer rumor talk, football pundits and supporters look into minor details to see what a player might be thinking. As Paris Saint-Germain continues its discussions with Kylian Mbappé, many are trying to figure out what the 22-year-old will do with his future.
For RMC Sport football pundit Jérôme Rothen pointed out something during his appearance on After Foot RMC, where he stated that there’s a connection that Mbappé seems to have with manager Mauricio Pochettino. After scoring his second goal, the forward jumped in the Argentine tactician’s arms, something Rothen says never happened with any other PSG manager.
“Contract extensions are played out very little. Mbappé must have had an idea in mind for a while. Maybe an offer from Real Madrid. Since he has trouble getting there, the fact of having this relationship with Pochettino, the fact that he feels good mentally and physically, the fact that there is a progression in his gestures,” Rothen said.
“There are signs which do not deceive. [Mbappé] is well in his head and his relationship with Pochettino. On his second goal, he goes into his arms! He had never done it at PSG, for any coach, never! It may bode well for an extension.”
