The Ligue 1 season came down to the final matchday, but in the end, the breaks didn’t go Paris Saint-Germain’s way as Lille OSC was able to come away with a win over Angers SCO. Despite the capital club defeating Stade Brestois 29.
After the match, PSG forward Kylian Mbappé spoke to Canal Football Club, where he discussed finishing as the top scorer in Ligue 1, but would mention that it’s now time to focus on the future with the season over.
“To finish top scorer three times in a row is a huge source of pride. I am very happy. Now is not the time to show your joy. We must remain calm. We will go home quietly, and we will prepare for the national team,” Mbappé said.
“The loss of the title? I’m not going to tell you what we’re going to do; I’m just a player, but I think people saw, everyone saw. I think when people see it then, it’s easier to draw conclusions. There are no worries; we lost the title, now we have to focus on the future.”
