Video: Di Maria Earns a Red Card Following an Unnecessary Foul on Fernandinho

Paris Saint-Germain has essentially collapsed in its UEFA Champions League semifinal second leg fixture with Manchester City. Minutes after Manchester City scored the fourth goal of the tie, Angel Di Maria ended any aspirations of a comeback following an unnecessary foul on midfielder Fernandinho.

Di Maria got into a scuffle with Fernandinho on the sidelines and proceeded to intentionally step on the Brazilian midfielder. Match referee Bjorn Kuipers wasted no time in issuing Di Maria a red card. The incident was reviewed by VAR but the red card stood.

  1. PSG were a joke.

Proof if proof was ever needed that no individual is ever as good as a team.

City were willing to put bodies on the line. And did.

PSG were willing to moan to the ref and did, when that didn’t work they tried to kick City off the pitch.

In any other Champions league match they could well have finished with 8.

Pathetic mentality from supposedly professional players, There is an old and somewhat unfair joke about France military doctrine being undone due to a fire at the white flag factory.

PSG just proved the joke real.
