Report: Neymar Expected to Add Another Year to New Contract Extension Deal With PSG

Neymar has finally ended all speculation regarding his Paris Saint-Germain future as the two sides officially announced a new multiyear contract extension deal that will run up until 2025. Neymar was slated to become a free agent next year, but this new deal will keep him at the club for another three years.

Neymar and PSG had been working on this extension deal for months, but as noted by L’Equipe, the two sides aimed for a deal that would go up until 2026. However, under French laws, players are not allowed to sign off on contracts that run past five years.

This new deal between Neymar and PSG will kick off this month. Thus, the two sides agreed to a clause when triggered, it would extend Neymar’s current deal up until 2026. Neymar will be able to activate this new clause by next year’s summer transfer window.

With Neymar finally putting this contract saga behind him, the Brazilian forward and PSG officials will now look ahead to what Kylian Mbappe will decide to do, whether it would be to also sign a new extension deal or depart from the club.
