Neymar Jr. has been in Europe since 2013 when Santos FC sold him to FC Barcelona. Now at Paris Saint-Germain, the 29-year-old continues to monitor football in his home country and recently praised four players who have been standing out in Brazil.
In an interview with one of his sponsors, Red Bull (via TNT Sports), Neymar spoke about the prominent names in Brazilian football that should be in Europe.
“Gabriel Menino. There is also Kaio Jorge do Santos, he is very talented. I have already seen two Libertadores matches where he was playing, he can shine in Europe,” Neymar said.
“I also like Flamengo’s Gerson very much. His time in Brazil he’s gone, he needs to come to Europe! Gabigol can also do a great job in Europe. [There are] so many other players, but these four names are the main Brazilian players today and should play in Europe.”
Menino has already played with Neymar for the Brazil national team, along with Gabriel Barbosa. Gabigol has played in Europe, but his stints were unsuccessful. However, he has found his confidence since signing with Flamengo.
Meanwhile, Gerson had played in Europe when he left for AS Roma, but the venture didn’t work out as he returned to Brazilian football when he joined Flamengo. Nonetheless, the 24-year-old is in talks with Olympique Marseille and could be a rival to the PSG striker in the French league.
