Kylian Mbappé continues his contract extensions with Paris Saint-Germain, and as both parties lay out their demands, some are beginning to leak out into the media.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport (via Canal Supporters), the 22-year-old has two critical demands in these contract talks with the capital club. The first demand is that the French giants allow Mbappé to partake in the Tokyo Olympics this summer.
Les Parisiens are reluctant to let Mbappé depart for Tokyo later this summer, mainly if the player participates in the UEFA European Championships too. The Olympics would mean a late start to his Ligue 1 season, which is why they don’t want to let him leave.
The other demand that the France international has is on the financial side of his discussions with PSG. The report states that Mbappé wants to be on par with his teammate Neymar Jr., which means a salary equivalent to the 29-year-old.
Again, this information should all be taken with a grain of salt, but it wouldn’t be surprising if Mbappé wants to negotiate to play in the Olympics, considering he’ll want to add a gold medal.
