Video: ‘We Hope This Is Nothing Serious’ – Mauricio Pochettino Discusses the Keylor Navas Injury

In these UEFA Champions League knockout fixtures, one of the more significant players for Paris Saint-Germain is goalkeeper Keylor Navas.

Whether it’s the crucial penalty kick stop against Lionel Messi in the second leg versus FC Barcelona. Then there’s the ten save performance against FC Bayern Munich in the snow. The 34-year-old is a vital piece for the French giants.

However, the worst-case scenario occurred during PSG’s fixture against RC Strasbourg Alsace when Keylor Navas left the match early due to a muscle problem.

After the match, manager Mauricio Pochettino spoke to the media, where Culture PSG relayed his comments concerning Navas. No further details were revealed in terms of Navas’ status for PSG’s Champions League second leg fixture versus Bayern Munich.

“He went out first of all as a precaution,” Pochettino said. “We have a quality medical team and great professionals. We, therefore, decided that he should no longer play so as not to take any risks. We hope this is nothing serious.”
