After a tough loss to Lille OSC in Ligue 1 competition, Paris Saint-Germain had the challenging task of heading to Germany for their UEFA Champions League Quarterfinal matchup against FC Bayern Munich.
The capital club came away with an impressive 3-2 victory at the Allianz Arena. Kylian Mbappé and Neymar Jr. led the way with two goals and two assists, respectively.
PSG president Nasser al-Khelaïfi spoke to PSG TV, where he touched on one of the more impressive victories in club history. Canal Supporters relayed the comments from the club chief.
“This is an important victory in the history of the club. We are winning away, here in Munich 3-2, despite several injuries on our side. We did a very good job, but it is not over yet, it was only the first period, there is the second to play at home at the Parc des Princes next week,” al-Khelaïfi said.
“We will also want to win, it is very important for us. We have more and more experience in this competition, our players like to play these matches, we have shown that we are a great team. I’m very proud of the players and the staff because they played a great game, but we do not forget that there is still the return match to play.”
