After missing the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 matchup against FC Barcelona, Neymar will be back in the lineup for Paris Saint-Germain in their quarterfinal matchup against FC Bayern Munich.
The 29-year-old saw some time before the FIFA international break when he came on as a substitute against Olympique Lyonnais. After the break, Neymar entered the starting eleven where he didn’t look his best, but neither did the entire squad as they fell 1-0 to Lille OSC.
During his press conference, PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino discussed Neymar’s form heading into this first leg in Munich. Canal Supporters relayed the comments by the Argentine tactician.
“After six weeks he was very excited to start a match,” Pochettino said. “He’s an emotional player, he likes to play, he likes to fight, he’s a competitor. He did not deserve this red, he was excluded for various reasons, but he knows he has to channel himself. I hope that tomorrow everything will be fine, that we can have a very good game, and that the whole team will deliver the performance that we hope.”
