Report: Manchester City’s Projected Starting 11 for the Champions League Fixture Against PSG

For the first time under Pep Guardiola, Manchester City is in the semifinals of the UEFA Champions League competition. The current Premier League leaders will take on Paris Saint-Germain in the semis, with the first leg of the tie coming on Wednesday.

Manchester City is just coming off of its Carabao Cup final win against Tottenham, which was a fixture that many PSG players sure kept note of.

As noted by UEFA‘s official website, here is the starting 11 that Manchester City may elect to roll with for this match.

Ederson; Walker, Stones, Ruben Dias, Cancelo; Rodri, Gundogan; Mahrez, De Bruyne, Foden; Bernardo Silva

As seen in years past, Guardiola is well known for making drastic tactical changes for Champions League knockout stage fixtures. But for this showdown with PSG, Guardiola may elect to go with a balanced 4-2-3-1 setup.

Guardiola will have plenty of options for his starting center-back pairing. The Spanish manager could decide to go with defenders John Stones and Ruben Dias to help contain PSG’s high-octane attacking setup.

In the recent fixture against Tottenham, Guardiola went with Phil Foden upfront. For this matchup against PSG, Bernardo Silva could go on to feature as the team’s main center forward.

Manchester City is aiming to clinch a spot in this season’s Champions League final.
