Pochettino Opens Up on Concerns With Neymar’s Recent Injury History

Mauricio Pochettino shared a bit on how he views Neymar’s recent injury history with Paris Saint-Germain.

Neymar has been out of action for a bulk of PSG’s fixtures this season in all competitions due to multiple injuries. The Brazilian has notably missed matches because of adductor and ankle injuries. The PSG star just recently returned to action late last month after being out due to an adductor injury suffered during the Coupe de France fixture against Caen.

Pochettino simply has not had Neymar available for much over his current run as PSG’s new manager.

As Pochettino detailed to Le Parisien, he is optimistic over Neymar being available for the remainder of the season but is cautious due to his previous injuries this season.

“We have to adapt to the realities of the moment,” Pochettino said. “When we arrived, Neymar was injured. Then he got injured again. He hasn’t been able to contribute much to the team on the pitch yet, but his influence outside the team is huge. He is extremely positive and helpful. I hope he can get back to his best form, especially in the next two months.

“The relationship is very good, the feeling goes very well. We are happy with the exchanges created in the last three months.’

PSG is in the stretch run of its season as the side still has a shot at a possible treble-winning campaign. The French powerhouse would need Neymar fit and available if it aspires to pull off such a feat.
