Marquinhos continues to be the unsung hero for Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions knockout stage as of late.
The Brazilian defender scored massive goals against Atalanta and RB Leipzig last season. And over the ongoing Champions League knockout stage, Marquinhos has had key scores against Bayern Munich and Manchester City.
As noted by Opta, Marquinhos joined Cristiano Ronaldo and Antoine Griezmann as the only players in the history of the Champions League to score goals in the quarterfinals and semifinals in back-to-back seasons.

Not many would expect Marquinhos to be on this list. Many would have likely predicted that the likes of Lionel Messi, Robert Lewandowski and Neymar would be among the players in this Champions League goal-scoring list. But instead, it is PSG’s star defender.
Marquinhos will now look ahead to helping PSG mount a comeback in the upcoming Champions League semifinal second leg duel with Manchester City coming over the next week.
